Graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. From 1985 to 1986 he worked at the Institute of Psycology of National Research Council (CNR) studying and developing planning methods in the framework of human-computer interaction.
Since 1986 he has been a researcher at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni where he has worked on the application of artificial intelligence techniques to information retrieval and data mining. He is currently involved in the study of protecting the privacy of internet users in cooperation with the ISCOM, the Higher Institute of Communication and Information Technology of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, and the Italian Data Protection Authority and the development of software tools for web information extraction. He is co-author of the book Concept Data Analysis: Theory and Applications (John Wiley & Sons, 2004).
