Researcher of the Cybersecurity Area, he earned the Degree in Physics in 1991 and the PhD in Applied Electromagnetism in 1995, both from Università di Roma La Sapienza.
Since 1996 to 2000 he conducted research activities at FUB, as a scholar and then a researcher of the Cryptology Group. Later, since 2000 to 2002 he worked as a cryptography expert at Gemplus (now Gemalto).
In 2003 he collaborated with FUB on the topic of security evaluation of cryptographic products. Since 2003 to 2006 he was a participant in the Italian project PRIMO and a didactic collaborator, both at Università di Roma La Sapienza.
Since 2006 he is again a researcher at FUB.
Since 2006 to 2019 he was a participant in the activities of Organismo di Certificazione della Sicurezza Informatica (OCSI) at Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (now Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy), focusing on the evaluation of correctness and robustness of implementations of cryptographic functionalities in Common Criteria certifications.
He was a participant also in the European projects ASSERT4SOA (2010-2013) and CUMULUS (2012-2015) and in several projects sponsored by RSE since 2016 to 2024 on cybersecurity in smart grids.
Since 2020 to 2022 he was a participant in several projects related to the agreement with Centro di Valutazione e Certificazione Nazionale (CVCN), focusing on the evaluation of correctness and robustness of implementations of cryptographic functionalities.
Since 2023 he is a participant in the project 5Gsec sponsored by the foundation SERICS, dealing with the evaluation of correctness of implementations of cryptographic functionalities in 5G networks.
