Within the project, four lines of activity are planned to achieve the set objectives:
- Activities pertaining to the 5G Technical Table, provided for in the Tender Rules of the auction for 5G frequencies, referred to in the Tender Notice published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic no. 80 of 11 July 2018, Fifth Special Series – Public Contracts (Line of Activity A);
- Development of IT systems in use in the Directorate (Line of Activity B);
- Activities relating to technical, administrative and specialist support to the various divisions of the Directorate (Line of Activity C);
- Support in the activation of a call for the selection of innovative projects aimed at the use and development of 5G technology in the audiovisual content production and distribution sector (Line of Activity D).
Within the framework of Line of Activity A, the project involves the drafting of documents and the implementation of any other activity aimed at supporting MIMIT in the management of the Table and in the confrontation, especially of a technical nature, with the operators assignees of the 5G Frequencies, for all the aspects envisaged by the Tender Specifications. Line of Activity B provides support to the Directorate for the corrective maintenance of the systems developed by the Foundation within the framework of the agreement relating to the implementation of Article 1 Paragraph 1039 of Law 205/2017, for the maintenance and evolutionary development of the portal for the management of postal licences and authorisations and of the dashboard for monitoring financial flows, and the creation of the portal for the support measures for publishing. Line of Activity C provides technical, administrative and specialist support to the various divisions of the DGSCERP. Finally, with regard to Line of Activity D, the project involves support for the implementation of a selective procedure for the acquisition of innovative project proposals, aimed at the deployment and development of 5G technology in the audiovisual content production and distribution sector, within the MIMIT programme of experimental-type technological innovation in the audiovisual and cultural and creative industry. In addition, the project involves support to the Directorate in monitoring the testing activities related to the projects awarded funds on 5G and audiovisual.
